TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES – APRIL 2022 INTAKE
Malawi College of Health Sciences is pleased to announce training opportunities for basic courses in the 2021-2022 academic year. The courses are open to both male and female applicants with a minimum age of 16 and a maximum age of 45.
DIPLOMA COURSES
DURATION: 3 YEARS

  1. Clinical Medicine
    Lilongwe & Blantyre Campuses – Scholarships: None
  2. Dental Therapy
    Lilongwe Campus Scholarships: None
  3. Biomedical Sciences
    LiIongwe Campus Scholarships: None
  4. Environmental Health
    Lilongwe campus – Scholarships: 5 (USAID).
  5. Radiography
    Lilongwe Campus – Scholarships: None
  6. Pharmacy
    Lilongwe Campus- Scholarships: None
  7. Optometry
    Lilongwe Campus Scholarships: None
    ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR COURSES ( 1-7 PROGRAMS)
    Applicants must have a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with credit passes in English, Mathematics, Physical Science and Biology. Those who obtained their MSCE in 2019 or in 2020 should have credits in English, Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
    Candidates must have an aggregate of not more than 30 points in MsCE or its equivalent.
  8. Diploma in Nursing (Registered Nursing)- Scholarships: None
    Duration: 3 years
    Blantyre Campus
    Admission Requirements
    Applicants must have a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with six credits. The credit passes must be in English, Mathematics, Biology. Physical Science and any two subjects. Those who obtained their MSCE in 2019 or in 2020 should have credits in English, Biology. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and any credit in any subject.
  9. Diploma in Nursing (Nursing & Midwifery Technician) – Scholarships: 50 (USAID)
    Duration: 3 years
    Zomba Campus
    ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
    Applicants must have a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with four credit passes which should include:English, Biology, Physical Science or Chemistry or Physics & Plus any one science subject (Mathematics,Agriculture, Geography, Home Economics)
    CERTIFICATE COURSES
  10. Certificate in Clinical Medicine (Blantyre and Lilongwe Campuses) – Scholarships: 10 (USAID)
  11. Certificate in Pharmacy (Lilongwe) – Scholarships: 50 (USAID)
    Duration: 2 years
    ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
    Applicants must have a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with credit passes in
    English and any two of the following: Mathematics, Biology and Physical Science. Candidates should have an aggregate of not more than 36 points.
    Those who obtained their MSCE in 2019 or in 2020 should have an aggregate of not more than 36 points in their MSCE and must have credit passes in English and in any of the following subject combinations:
    i.Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, ii.Mathematics and Biology
    iii. Biology, Physics and Chemistry
    ENTRANCE EXAMINATION AND MODE OF REGISTRATION
    Entrance Examinations will be administered on 21st January, 2022, from 7:30AM.
    REGISTRATION FOR THE ENTRANCE Examinations will take place on 19th and 20th January, 2022 from 7:3OAM at the
    following Registration Centres:
    a)Southern Region
    Malawi College of Health Sciences – Blantyre Campus
    Malawi College of Health Sciences – Zomba Campus
    b) Central Region
    Malawi College of Health Sciences – Lilongwe Campus
    c)Northern Region
    Katoto Secondary School – Mzuzu
    Registration Fee for the Entrance Examinations should be paid in advance on any day from 30th November, 2021 to 20th January, 2022. Registration fee is K12, 000.00 payable at any NBS Branch into the following account:

    The Bank Deposit Slip should strictly bear the name of the candidate.
    The Registration Fee is non-refundable. Candidates should, therefore, make sure that they qualify for their preferred courses before depositing the Registration fees into the College’s Bank Account.
    Prospective candidates are advised to keep the bank deposit slip and bring it for registration on 19th or on 20th January, 2022 at any of the Registration Centres.
    Registration forms will be obtained on the registration day in all the registration centres.
    Candidates MUST bring the following on the day of registration:
    a) Bank Certified Deposit Slip strictly bearing the name of the candidate
    b) Original Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent, or notification of results slip.
    c) One (1) colour passport size photograph
    d) . Any form of recognized identity
    Candidates who will not bring any of the four above (a-d ) will not be registered.
    Candidates should wear face masks on both days of registration and on the day of writing Entrance Examinations.
    Candidates without face masks will not be entertained.
    Please note that limited scholarships MAY be available to successful eligible candidates applying for Diploma in Environmental Health (5), Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery Technician (50), Certificate in Clinical Medicine (10) and certificate in Pharmacy (50)

    NOTE
    Students who were withdrawn from Malawi College of Health Sciences on either academic or disciplinary grounds are not eligible to register for admission and write Entrance Examinations.
    Prospective candidates and their guardians are advised not to deposit money in anybody’s account to help them secure a place at the college. Such people are criminals who are not employees of Malawi College of Health Sciences but just want to swindle people of their hard earned money.
    If you encounter such people please report them to the college authorities and the Police immediately.
